Collection Updates.

We are collecting specimens!

We will notify you here, and on our FaceBook page, when we are traveling to collect specimens.

Please check here before submitting a specimen.

Please save the specimen, record trapping location, contact us, and we will contact you to arrange a pick up.

Please read information below before completing a specimen submission form.

Suggestions on specimen handling.

  • ALWAYS wear gloves when handling specimens.

  • ALWAYS wear gloves or use a plastic bag to pick up animal feces

  • WASH HANDS thoroughly using soap and water after handling specimens and feces.

How should specimens be saved?

  1. Freeze the specimen within 24-48 hours of trapping. If it’s below 40 degrees F outside the specimen can be left outside on the ground, otherwise please place specimen in the freezer if possible.

  2. Bag individual specimens and securely tie to prevent leakage of fluid.

  3. Record the location where specimen was trapped, i.e. county and/or coordinates.

  4. Click the ‘Submit a Specimen’ link below and follow the instructions.

  5. Once submission form is received, we will contact you to arrange pick up.
